Rites Tomorrow for Marvin Minga 

  SMITHFIELD - Funeral services for Marvin Duncan Minga will be conducted 
Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Bullock Funeral Home.  Burial will be in St. 
Luke's Memorial Cemetery. 

  Mr. Minga, 82, a retired boatman, died Monday at Obici Memorial Hospital 
after long illness. 

  He was a life-long resident of Rescue, Isle of Wight County, and a son of 
the late Isaac and Mrs. Mary Saunders Minga. 

  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sara [sic; Vera] Powell Minga; five sons, 
Willis P. Minga, Newport News; Harry C. Minga, Lyman P. Minga, Littleton L. 
Minga and Duncan R. Minga, all of Rescue; two sisters, Mrs. P.H. Carter, 
Rescue, and Mrs. D.L. Mountjoy, Hampton; six grandchildren and three great 
grandchildren.

M. D. Minga. 82, Buried March 11 In St. Luke's Cemty 

  Marvin Duncan Minga, 82, a retired boatman, died Monday, March 9, 1959 in 
the Obici Hospital. Suffolk, after a long illness. 

  He was a life-long resident of Rescue, Isle of Wight County, and a son of 
the late Isaac and Mrs. Mary Saunders Minga. 

  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sara [sic; Vera] Powell Minga; five sons, 
Willis P. Minga Newport News; Harry C. Minga, Lyman P. Minga, Littleton L. 
Minga, and Duncan R. Minga, all of Rescue; two sisters, Mrs. P.H. Carter, 
Rescue, and Mrs. D.L. Mountjoy, Hampton; six grandchildren and three 
grandchildren. 

  Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 2:30 P.M. at the Bullock 
Funeral Home. 

  Burial was in St. Luke's Memorial Cemetery.

His father (1831 - 1898) was a Confederate veteran, having served as a private 
   in Co. D, 16th VA Infantry.
